Dawn's goal is to make being healthy as fun and easy as possible.Dawn started her journey as an aerobics instructor in 1990 and then went onto get her personal trainer certificate in 1991, Lifestyle and Weight Management Instructor in 1996, a Pilates instructor in 2006, and a pre-natal yoga instructor in 2013. Before opening her own studio, Dawn taught fitness in Geneva, Switzerland, Santa Fe, NM and Boston, MA.She started taking Yoga classes in Boston in 1995. Her interest in Yoga grew out of her great enjoyment of meditation, and from recognizing how much traditional fitness had borrowed and adapted from Yoga. From there she began taking classes and reading extensively, eventually attending teacher training at Downward Dog Studio in Toronto in 2008. In 2013 Dawn added Ballet Barre to her repertoire and was featured in The Hamilton Spectator. Later that year she was interviewed on Terra TV for Pre-Natal Yoga.In 2003, after thirteen years of teaching everything from aqua aerobics to Zumba, Dawn opened Heron Creek Yoga Studio.In January 2012, Dawn and Martin opened Heron Creek Fitness. Dawn knew immediately that Yoga and Fitness needed to be combined for the best mind, body and soul workout, and so, moved the Yoga studio in and now we have Heron Creek Yoga & Fitness.She is grateful every day for her family and for the opportunity to share her passions--yoga and fitness-- with so many wonderful people.
